Mack's Winnsboro Truck Plant

Mack's Winnsboro plant is the most impressive one not only among the Mack plants but among all the other truck plants as well. Very low in vertical integration, the plant was probably the first to realize the "Roll-in Chassis", delivered by Dana from a plant 5 miles away.

The plant's capacity is 70 trucks per day in 1 shift. Workforce is at about 900. The organization is strongly based on committees, trying to motivate people as much as possible by involvement.

In order to offer installations on completed units or units already on the firm schedule, Mack installed a Vehicle Modification Center next to the assembly operation.
