Four GM Vehicles Earn AAA Top Honors
. |
| DETROIT, Dec. 22, 1999 - Today four GM vehicles
were named tops in their price categories by AAA. The Buick LeSabre, Cadillac DeVille,
Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon were selected as "Top Cars" by AAA, the country's
largest organization for motorists. |

The 2000 model of Buick's LeSabre, the best-selling full-size car in the U.S. market for
eight straight years, earned Top Car standing among all domestic and import models in the
$20,000-$25,000 price range by receiving the most points in a rigorous scoring procedure.
AAA judges assessed LeSabre's performance in everyday use, such as driving children
to school, grocery shopping and commuting. The guide praises the 2000 LeSabre's
luxuriously smooth ride - "even over rough city streets" - and observes:
"The engine and transmission perform beautifully together, with plenty of spirited
acceleration, smooth shifts, and quiet composure." It notes that the 2000 LeSabre
"is totally contemporary and still has the no-nonsense comfort and convenience
features that over a million buyers of the previous model expected." LeSabre received
particularly high marks for its acceleration, transmission, ride, interior room, ease of
entry and exit, quietness, cargo space and value.

| Cadillac DeVille The DeVille earned Top
Car honors in the $35,000 to 40,000 price range. Blending engineering achievement and
sophisticated styling, DeVille has been completely reengineered and redesigned for the
2000 model year. As America's best selling luxury car for the past 14 years, the new
DeVille is designed to carry its leadership role into the new millennium. |
| The 2000 DeVille reflects the bold spirit of great Cadillacs
of the past. At the same time, it advances Cadillac's vision to be a world leader in
applying art and science to its products, building on a heritage of design leadership and
technological ingenuity that over the years has set Cadillac apart from other luxury
carmakers. |

Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon

| The all-new Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon earned
"Best SUV over $25,000" honors. Based on the same GM truck platform as the
highly successful Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size pick up, these vehicles are
the only full-size SUVs to earn fuel economy ratings of 20 mpg highway from the
Environmental Protection Agency. Designed for people who actually use these vehicles for
camping, fishing, the theatre, or touring the countryside - the Tahoe and Yukon have
several improvements for 2000. New features include standard four-wheel disc brakes
with a dynamic proportioning system that maximizes braking under varying load conditions,
and a real-time damping system that stabilizes the vehicle whether towing a trailer,
hauling a load or driving to the corner store. Other improvements include standard side
impact air bags, 50/50 split seat for passenger/cargo carrying versatility, roomier
interior and a nine-speaker stereo system. Award background

& Truck Buying Guide for 2000.
