DaimlerChrysler announces changes in Communication Department

  • Hartmut Schick (40) to head global Communication Department effective January 1, 2002

  • Christoph Walther (45), current Head of Communication, to establish a management consulting company

Stuttgart - Christoph Walther, who joined the company as Senior Vice President and Head of Communication in 1995, will leave the company at the end of 2001 after six successful years. Together with partners he will start an internationally operating consulting company which will also advise DaimlerChrysler with regard to PR.

Hartmut Schick

Hartmut Schick, currently Vice President and Chief of Staff of the CEO, will take over his new responsibilities effective January 1, 2002 as Senior Vice President and Head of Communication, at the same time maintaining his current responsibility as Head of Corporate Office. Schick previously held different positions in Research and Technology, Marketing and Production in various divisions of the company including an assignment in Brazil.
