Cathleen O'Hare Named Buick Communications Manager
 

Cathleen O'Hare has been named communications manager, Buick Trucks, effective August 1, 2003 and was announced by Peter J. Ternes, Buick director of communications and public relations. She was previously manager of broadcast services for the GM Media Bureau. In her new assignment her primary responsibilities will be for public relations and communications activities for current and future Buick truck models including the Rendezvous, Rendezvous Ultra, Rainier and a new model soon to be introduced. Cathleen has a strong background in broadcast communications and has earned a number of awards for her reporting, writing and news coverage. She has written and reported for TV and radio stations in Detroit and Lansing and also worked as a media relations counselor before hiring into General Motors.

She began her GM career in 1993 working for the Communications Support Group and was responsible for video and website development. She also anchored GM This Week. In her most recent assignment she was responsible for Corporate broadcast activities including GM Drive Time, video/audio news releases and auto show broadcast coordination.

Cathleen has a bachelor's degree in communications from Wayne State University.
