"The awards night is a great chance for the industry to meet," says Alexandra Campos, Marketing Manager of the Interior Motives Student Design Awards, "and to talk about the latest concept and production cars, design trends and the automotive business in general. Tickets are going fast: We have been delighted with the support we have had from the international design community." Attendees will have the chance to meet winning students from the world's finest transportation and industrial design courses, as well as the judging panel of senior design managers: Ian Callum, Director, Design, Jaguar Cars; Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President and Head of Design, Nissan Motor Company and President Nissan Design Europe; Peter Pfeiffer, Senior Vice President Design, DaimlerChrysler AG; Roberto Piatti, Managing Director, Stile Bertone; Bill Fluharty, Vice President Industrial Design - North America, Johnson Controls Inc; and Rus Shafer, Director, Industrial Design, Intier Automotive. The Awards ceremony is taking place during the Frankfurt Motor Show at the King Kamehameha Club on the 10th September 2003, and offers a great chance to discuss the latest automotive design directions seen at the show. The King Kamehameha Club is Frankfurt's number one jazz venue. A renovated brewery building, the club has played host to jazz greats including Dave Brubeck, Manu DiBango and Les McCann. The evening will start with cocktails at 18:30, offering attendees a perfect opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues. The awards ceremony itself follows from 21:00, where nominated and winning designs will be shown. The festivities will close with music and dancing. The Interior Motives: Student Design Awards 2003 is being sponsored by key players in the interior design and supply industry. The Premier Sponsor of the Awards is Intier Automotive. Gold sponsors to the event are Alcantara, Alias, Hewlett Packard and JSP International. Silver sponsors to the event are Huntsman Polyurethanes and Seton Leather. (Aug. 14, 2003)
