As part of Renault's development in Asia, Renault and TCEC signed an MA covering Renault business in Malaysia
 

TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd (TCEC) will handle commercial distribution and after-sales services for Renault in Malaysia. The Master Agreement signed with TCMH (Tan Chong Motor Holding Berhad) new subsidiary, also includes the manufacturing and adaptation of Renault Kangoo to local requirements. Georges Douin, Executive Vice President of the Renault group in charge of Product and Strategic Planning and International Operations, and Dato Tan Heng Chew, Chairman of TCMH (Tan Chong Motor Holding Berhad) signed a Master of Agreement on May 15, 2003, to develop Renault activities in Malaysia.

This project provides for the commercial distribution of Renault vehicles and after-sales activity. They will be handled, as of summer 2003, by TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd (TCEC). This new TCMH subsidiary has been created specifically for cooperation with Renault.

From 2004, the industrialization of Kangoo in Malaysia will enable Renault to boost its sales in Malaysia. It will be produced and adapted to the specific characteristics of the Malaysian market, at TCMH plant in Kuala Lumpur. The gradual application of AFTA (Asean Free Trade Agreement) will allow exports to other countries in the Asia Pacific region, as opportunities arise.

In 2002, TCMH revenues amounted Euro 391 million (RM 1,527 million). It assembles and sells Nissan models (15,900 units in 2002, mainly Sentra and Vanette) as part of a cooperative venture set up over 45 years ago. This project is a further example of the business opportunities offered by the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
