Hyundai Motors: Products 2006

Hyundai Accent

Offered in a four-door sedan (a three-door version will be introduced in Spring 2006 as a 2007 model) the new Accent now has a longer wheelbase, wider track, and rolls on larger wheels and tires. Larger on the outside, the sleek and sophisticated Accent has newfound interior space—and the most interior volume in its segment. Class-leading power flows from a clean-running new 110-horsepower, 1.6-liter DOHC in-line four with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) for better power and efficiency. I

n a bold stroke in this price-sensitive market segment, Hyundai has outfitted the Accent with state-of-the-art standard safety technologies, including four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), and a total of six airbags, including dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags covering both rows of seating. All Accents come equipped with front seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, which are designed to tighten the seatbelt in the event of a collision. No other car in the segment can equal the Accent’s standard safety technologies.

Hyundai Azera

Available in dealerships beginning in Fall 2005, the new 2006 Hyundai Azera is destined to redefine the way people think about premium sedans. That’s because the terms “premium” and “attainable” have been exclusive until now. With segment-leading standard safety technology (including Electronic Stability Control) and upscale convenience features, the Azera proves that impressive content and affordability can happily coexist.

The Azera is every inch Hyundai’s new flagship sedan, brimming with new thinking, creative solutions and an artful blend of style, sophistication, safety and performance. The Azera takes its inspiration from some of the biggest names in the upscale-car field, beating them at their own game in terms of interior roominess and standard safety features and equipment. But Azera also embodies the aspirations of its customers who want the features, quality and the performance of a premium sedan.

Hyundai Elantra

For 2006, the Elantra returns in GLS (four- and five-door) and GT (five-door) trim, and the line expands to include a new upscale Limited sedan. There’s also a new premium package available on all trim levels that includes a power sunroof, ABS and Traction Control System (TCS).

Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe has forged a remarkable reputation against tough competition. Gaining in features, style and performance with each model year, Santa Fe is a four-time winner of the AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Award. It also finished first in Strategic Vision’s 2004 Total Quality Index. Automotive Lease Guide (ALG) gave Santa Fe a class-leading four-star rating for residual value.

For 2006, the Santa Fe continues to improve. The top trim level LX has been replaced with the Limited, which builds on the base GLS trim’s many standard features by adding leather seating surfaces and other upgrades. A new all-black monochromatic color scheme also is available as an option on the Limited.

Hyundai Sonata

Available in three trim levels and with a choice of two engines and three transmissions, Sonata is fully equipped to satisfy the increasingly sophisticated demands of the midsize sedan buyer. The 2006 Hyundai Sonata recently beat Honda Accord and Toyota Camry to take first place in an Edmunds.com Inside Line comparison test. Edmunds.com reported, “In the end, it wasn't even close . . . in the areas of performance and features, the Hyundai won in a landslide . . . Bottom Line: With the 2006 Sonata, Hyundai convincingly beats the long-standing class leaders in nearly every important category.”

Hyundai Tiburon

The Tiburon is offered in four trim levels for 2006, including the racy and affordable Tiburon GS, the refined performance Tiburon GT, the sophisticated GT Limited and the ultimate performance Tiburon SE. The GT Limited includes all the GT equipment plus an exclusive beige leather interior, European-style side marker repeater lights, a power glass tilt/slide sunroof with sunshade and a 440-watt Infinity audio system with in-dash six-disc CD changer and subwoofer.

There are more positive changes for 2006. The power sunroof is now individually available as an option on the Tiburon GS, and a dramatic new color, Orange Crush, has been added exclusively for the SE model. Inside, the Tiburon gets an attractive new design for the center stack (the panel containing HVAC and audio systems), plus a larger digital clock.

Hyundai Tucson

Tucson is the SUV that changed the rules of engagement by ranking first in Strategic Vision’s 2005 Total Quality Study in the Small SUV Category. Kiplinger’s Personal Finance named Tucson the “Best New Small SUV” and J.D. Power and Associates named Tucson as the industry’s highest quality all-new model launched in 2005 based on its Initial Quality Study. The Hyundai Tucson also has captured top honors in the AutoPacific 2005 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards and SmartMoney magazine’s “Best Value Car Award”
