Western Europe is the strongest automotive market area
beside the U.S. In 2006 a little more than 17 Mio. vehicle
(passenger cars, light and heavy vehicles) were sold. Main
competitor in Europe - registration wise - is Volkswagen
with more than 3.1 Mio. vehicles. Followed by PSA with 2.3
Mio. and Ford with 1.8 Mio. new vehicle registration.
Germany is by far the strongest market with more than 3.5
Mio. registrations, followed by the United Kingdom and
Italy. France only makes the 4th rank.
