Munich - This year's
Mille Miglia concluded successfully for the BMW Team. Both Franca
Boni and Monica Barziza (who drove a BMW 328) won the lady's trophy.
Thousands of spectators
watched the Mille Miglia's participants engage in speed as they
raced their way from Brescia to Rome and back. Among them was King
Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his co-pilot Prince Leopold of
Bavaria, who drove the BMW 328 MM Touring Roadster. Enthusiastic
fans of this classic event-now in its 76th year-waited for their
favorite drivers in historical cities such as San Marino, Siena,
Rome and Florence. An original BMW 327 piloted by Italian rockstar
Gianna Nannini attended this year`s Mille Miglia as a BMW team
member with Rosella Labate on board. |
Holger Lapp, the Head of
Mobile Tradition, and Marco Saltalamaccia, President of BMW Italia, were
one of the 21 BMW teams among the 372 international teams. They drove a
very valuable classic car-the actual BMW 328 Mille Miglia Touring Coupe
that won the Mille Migilia in 1940.
