Porsche purchases minority participation in Bertrandt AG Sports car manufacturer wants to make better use of chances in engineering services market Stuttgart, Germany - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has purchased a minority participation of 25 percent plus a single share in Bertrandt AG in Ehningen near Böblingen. The sports car manufacturer is thereby supporting the strategic co-operation striven for with the engineering company. Negotiations with Bertrandt concerning the structuring of this alliance have begun in the meantime. The traditionally good co-operation between Porsche and Bertrandt should be further strengthened by the investment and the partnership associated with it. This will not only serve to cope with the dramatic rise in Porsche's development but also the strategy pursued by Porsche of continued expansion of the customer development business. At the same time, the high amount of confidentiality continues to be guaranteed which the car manufacturer as commissioning party provides today to Bertrandt and the customer development of Porsche AG. The operative independence of both companies is not affected by the planned strategic alliance. In the last few days, Porsche has placed an order with Bertrandt on the scale of tens of millions - one of the largest development orders which a sports car manufacturer has ever entrusted to an external provider of engineering services.
